Health officials hope getting an H1N1 vaccination tops New Year’s resolution lists. Nationwide there have been fewer cases of the H1N1 virus, commonly known as swine flu, but health officials warn that a possible third wave of the flu could emerge in upcoming weeks.


“It’s honestly still a good idea if you haven’t received the vaccine to get vaccinated before that possible third wave,” Rebecca Feger, public health preparedness coordinator and pandemic flu coordinator for the Laurel County Health Department, said.
